We are looking for people to join our dedicated team of Trustees.

Do you have a experience of being a Trustee with other organisations?

Do you have professional museum experience and expertise?

Do you think strategically?

Do you have time to give to help us thrive?

We are looking for Trustees with these qualities who are also willing to be very hands on.

Volunteers encourage visitors in, greet with a welcoming smile, mention the mouse trail, clean the windows, work as a team, explain things, polish the display cases, audit the collection, chat to visitors, carry out research, write labels, file things, find things, vacuum the floors, ask questions, dust, answer questions, encourage donations, use the till, make everyone feel as though their visit was worthwhile, have a great time.

The Museum has behind the scenes work going on during the closed season (November to March) which involves working with items in the collection,  preparing the museum for opening on Tuesdays in December, and looking at how we can interpret the collection better.

The Friends of Totnes Museum fundraises and provides essential support for the Museum to help ensure the continuation of the Museum for future generations to come.

Friends of Totnes Museum are rewarded with a variety of perks which includes free use of Totnes Archive!

No one is paid.

It's free to enter but we do rely on visitor donations. 

We accept cash and card donations.
