"A Time Capsule of Totnes"

"A wonderful time capsule of Totnes from a different time and era. Wonderful for small children and adults alike. Alot to see that is well laid out and wondrfully described. Be sure to check out all three floors of the home and then visit the herb garden out back."

"Well Worth A Visit"

"We loved our visit to this authentic little house, with its extensive collection of historical bric-a-brac, implements and clothing. The little Pharmacy was particularly fascinating, and we really enjoyed reading about the potions and cures prescribed in Elizabethan times. Children can dress up in period clothing and complete activity sheets. Well worth a visit."

Charles Babbage - "What an Interesting Man"

"We both enjoy visiting local history museums wherever we go and so were pleased to find that Totnes has one. The displays are mostly upstairs, over two floors. Along with information about the building and its history, there are rooms dedicated to a Victorian pharmacy, a school room, and local man and polymath Charles Babbage. We particularly felt we learnt something from this last room - what an interesting man!"

“Great little museum”

"Such an interesting, well explained museum - stuff for the kids to do! We loved it, especially the herb garden and chemists shop!"

“Museum with a difference ”

"A place put together with lots of love. Unique quirky place that is not a museum in the traditional sense.. no endless plaques to read just interactive fun. Would definitely recommend a visit."
